Tampa Bay's Gulf Beaches are among Florida's finest, and ranked consistently in the top ten in the world. The beach at Fort DeSoto park was recently rated as the #1 beach in the continental United States by an organization called Dr. Beach. A unique area made up of five islands, the park features a fort built during the Spanish-American War, two fishing piers, camping areas, concession stand, bicycle trail, canoe & bicycle rentals and covered picnic shelters.
