Holiday Boat Parades 2005

Now, this is holiday fun, Pinellas County style. Lighted boats will decorate the waterways for weeks, as boaters get ready for the lighted boat parades that grace the waterfront communities every year. Boaters are encouraged to call for information on how to participate, and landlubbers should mark their calendars for a special waterfront tradition.

Friday, December 9 St. Petersburg, 7:30pm. The Pier, 800 Second Ave. NE.  Starts at the Harborage Marina, around the Pier, into the Vinoy Yacht Basin and back. Call 821-6164
Saturday, December 10 Island Estates Yacht Club, 6:30pm. Begins in Mandalay Channel, to Coachman Park, to Clearwater Marina. Judging at Clearwater Yacht Club. Call 447-1230 or e-mail. wblum1@tampabay.rr.com 
Saturday, December 10 St. Pete Beach, 6:00pm.  Begins at Merry Pier in Pass-A-Grille. Call 363-9245. 
Sunday, December 11 Treasure Island, 6:20pm. Treasure Island Yacht Club Heading south, under the Treasure Island Causeway Bridge at 7:00pm. (Bridge will remain open for 30 minutes), through the canals and ending at John's Pass at 8:15. 
Saturday, December 17 Indian Rocks Beach, 7:00pm Begins at Holiday Inn Harborside, and through the canals to North Harbor Drive. Call 517-0404. 
Saturday, December 17 Madeira Beach, 6:30pm.  Begins behind City Hall, goes to John's Pass, turns around and goes south through the canals, ending at the American Legion Post 273. Call 391-9951. 
Sunday, December 18 Indian Shores and the Redingtons, 6:00pm.  Begins south end of Redington Beach, ends at The Pub in Indian Shores. Call 391-4848.
